As a wingthird for Southern, G'del had a decent weyr, but not nearly as big or as nice as this wingleader's weyr. He stood in the room, a few clothes in hand and looked around him. He could get used to this very easily. He tossed the clothes into a trunk set next to his desk and against a wall. There was some extra furniture he had put in for if he had people over, like wingriders, his second or third, or even a lady friend or two.He had added a few more comfortable chairs, a bigger table w/ four dining chairs, and a special book shelf just for records and plans. His room looked less empty to say the least. He should really get a woman in here to help him decorate, he really was no good at deciding what was stylish. He had always consulted his sister, but now she wasn't here.
He was satisfied. He lay back on his bed, definatly better than his old one, and touched the fine sleeping skins. The room and the title made everything worth it. Solarith had slightly bigger accomodations, and was quite pleased with everything as well. Solarith was also happy to see three young queens. Not to mention that there were plenty of new dragons to talk to. He too was happy for the scenery change.

Ruet knocked on the new rider's weyr door. As Junior weyrwoman it was part of her job to make sure he had found everything he needed and was settling in alright. Besides she was curious to see who had been sent this time. Hoping that her light rapping on the door would be heard she stepped back and straightened out the front of her light blue, wool dress. She wore a similair style most days. Her shaw was absent today for she felt it was too warm to wear.
Stop fidgeting or I'll tell Lyrai where you are.You wouldn't dare. Your the one who insisted I come silly. Besides don't you want to know about his Bronze? The Queen quieted. Of course she wanted to know. They may be the quieter pair out of the Queens but they were also very curious. Ruet was sharp witted which was in part tied to her curious nature.

Was that a rapping at his chamber door? He got up, curious, not sure if he heard the light tapping. He opened the door, a blank look on his face. His eyes ran down Ruet and he inclined his head, "Hello there,"
With out even being asked, Rider of gold Sharieth
He offered her a friendly smile, "Well come in, uh, is it Ruet?" There were only three queenrider names to memorize, and LZ, RS, and TA. Ruet had to be right. If he was wrong, he would have to hide his embarassment. "Won't you come in," He opened the door wider and motioned for her to take a seat on his best chair.

The door opened suddenly, it seemed to Ruet. She took in the tall man that stood before her without much change in expression. He smiled at her, so she in turn smiled lightly, "Yes, it is. I just came by to make sure you were settling in alright." She went to the seat he had motioned for her but remained standing. It was normal for her to take a seat when it was offered but she was not in the mood to sit at all. In fact she let her eyes wander his weyr momentarily before settling back on the chair.
Ruet turned around to face him, "You are finding everything to your liking I hope. How is Solarith?" She knew that coming to a new Weyr could stress some people out. As a healer she suspected that these two were not stressed at all by the move. G'del looked fairly comfortable.

He sat down and rested back in the chair, the sat up straight. She was a pretty, sophisticated looking woman who was taking the time to come and see how he was. She was so very different than the impulsive candidate he met earlier, and he appreciated it. When she asked about his dragon, he was genuinly pleased. Solarith was his pride and joy, the only being he had ever loved. His face did not light up as might have been expected, but he looked a bit reserved, and proper-like. He smiled lightly to show that it was fine to ask about his dragon, and he said with out too much emotion, "Solarith is doing nicely. He is on his ledge right now. He looks foreward to meeting other dragons. I am very glad you asked. I trust your gold is doing well? "

"Oh I'm glad everything is going well. Sharieth is doing very well. She is excited at having a new Bronze around, as are Zhariath and Amenth." Where would golds be without their Bronze admirers. She could jsut see Zhariath getting depressed at the thought. The leading Queen was really most famous for her gaggle of bronzes. Sharieth, gladly, was less Bronze oriented.
"If you or Solarith have need of anything, let me know." Ruet said and as usual she was silent. No point in saying more than needed to be said.

He smiled charmingly, "Of course, we wouldn't hesitate," He settled back into his chair now, and looked at her, she was very ladylike. He folded his hands and almost grinned at the thought of golds surrounded by a harem of bronzes. It was true. The queens at Southern were the same. "Let me assure you that Solarith is equally excited to have such beautious queens to worship." He stood up, "Might I get you something? Klah? Water? Wine? I prefer water myself, but I can get you what ever you want. I am your servant." He bowed to her, and turned to a set of shelves. There was a decanter of wine and a pitcher of water. He picked up a mug and filled it with water, "While I'm pouring, milday?"

Rue smiled pleasantly. HE seemed a good sort of person to have about. Hopefully she'd remember enough about him to give Lyrai a decent account. She would want to meet him next. Tujal as well. The three Golds weren't exactly trying to compete but all three women were intensely curious about the Bronzeriders that came to the Weyr. For good reason too. There was no way of knowing who would fly ones Queen.
"The Queen's will be delighted to meet him, for he sounds a flatterer." Which was probably true. Sharding Bronzes, always knowing exactly what to say. "I can not stay long however a cup of water would be fine."

He smiled and grabbed a more elegant glass. He didn't have many fine things, but the champange flute seemed just the ticket for such an important guest. He poured it and returned to her, offering her the glass and keeping the mug for himself. He took his seat, "How sorry I am to hear that, that you can only stay for a little bit, that is." He took a drink of water. It was still some what cool on his tongue. At Southern, he usually sat with his friends and they usually picked the topics to talk about. He would have to step up now, "So tell me, queenrider, where are you from?"

She smiled as she took the offered glass. "My father was a journeyman healer for High Reaches hold. Now hes a Master but I have spent my whole life there up until a little over four turns ago. Since then Ponaa has been my home." She wasn't used to talking about herself much so she moved the conversation elsewhere.
"How about you?" Ruet could never tell who was a Weyrbrat or a holder or crafter growing up. It was hard to judge and even then making assumptions was a bad thing in her eyes. She sippded her water casually.

"I was a Southern Weyrbrat. But my parents were both holders. My mother raised me by holder standards, but I was in a Weyr, so I am pretty well mixed. My father was from Fort Hold, but migrated to Southern with his father and then joined the smith craft. I too left for the Smith craft when I was eight." He paused, wondering why he was giving her his whole life history. There was something about the whole situation that seemed open. And he was fairly sure that she wasn't a gossiper-not that there was anything scandalous in his history, quite the opposite actually. "Impressed eight turns ago."
To a wonderfully handsome bronze. Add that.
Out of no where, or at least perhaps seeminly to Ruet, G'del chuckled. "Oh, I'm sorry, it would seem that my friend would like me to add that I impressed a wonderfully handsome bronze."

He told her of his life and it seemed to her that there was a sadness in leaving for Southern. "Do you enjoy smithing?" Her parents did not condone women crafters, though Ruet was more than capable of healing. If she were a male there would be no doubt that she would achieve master status, now however her main focus was dragons and rider health. HEalthy riders and dragons were better than ill ones.
"Of course. Though Sharieth would say she was the most perfect Queen to ever have hatched with a twin..." Her grin broadened. She remembered telling Sharieth as a Weyrling that it was silly because she was probably the only twin to hatch besides her sister.

He shrugged his shoulders. They were well built thanks to his work, and he was no lightweight from it either, "It was an experience, Ruet, but tell you the truth, I often don't know if it's useful to me now. That is unless I become an inventor who focuses on dragons. I liked parts of smithing, and others I did not." Not to mention working with fire often led to burns. He grinned, "I am pretty sure Solarith would agree with her on that."
I would. Queens are often perfect. I am sure Sharieth is beautiful. And perfect. I will tell her that one day when I meet her. The bronze said this so matter-of-factly, his rider stopped himself from laughing, and managed to keep a more serious face, "Did you try out a craft at all?"

It didn't suprise her that he liked and disliked smithing. Healing was similair. Failures cost lives and though it may seem a glorious route it was filled with heart ache, deaths were as common as new births. It wasn't something one did on a whim. Family had everythign to do with her learning, along with her illnes at a young age.
"My parents didn't agree with women pursuing a craft, however I'm an adept healer. Were I a man, you can be sure I would easily have achieved master status." She was nearly that good already at her age. Of course healing Sharieth when she hatched ill had helped and made her more interested in dragonhealing. Now she wished she had more experience with that aspect of healing.

"Aye, my masters thought I had great potential, just like my father. One master told me 'not to waste your talent like your dragonriding bum of a father.' I left the craft a sevenday later to join my father, who was a brownrider. I put in nearly nine turns into the craft, but it just wasn't satisfying to me. And when one of my masters insulted my family, I decided to just follow my father even more. I had followed him into the Smith craft. Which was not the best idea I ever had. . . I am not ungrateful for my training. The craft hall was great to me. They were my family for a big part of my childhood." He looked at her, "My father was the same way. My sister wasn't allowed to go to a craft, she stayed with my mother until she became a candidate. Most unfortunate. Crafting gives one a sense of responsibility. It's a good start." He was talking much more than usual...
