Panthea gave him the look of adoration, and his personal panic subsided. So she didn't hate him. Good thing, too. Then she grabbed him and kissed him with ardor, and he thought he'd probably bust. So she really doesn't hate me.
Lornath's eyes whirled green and purple. No, she doesn't. She likes you.
I couldn't tell. "Was it?" He realized he was still standing over her. "Um," he murmured, moving back to his seat. "I'm not one to apologize for my words or actions, you should know that." He half-smiled. It ended up looking like a smirk, so he dropped it altogether. "But...I liked it, the kiss, I mean. Kisses. Whatever," he mumbled, completely befuddled. He looked back up at her. "I have no idea what to say to you now." He chuckled. "Where do we go from here?" he asked, figuring she would be more experience in such matters than he.

Panthea started to get her breathing undercontrol. She couldn't imagine what had gotten into her, but she was not sorry, actually she was relieved. Very relieved. And he didn't seem to mind or apologise or anything. If he would have apologised, she might have died on the spot in embarassment. He spoke and she looked at him, thanking Faranth for not shaking like a leaf. This was sureal, but still, was this not what she had intended? Yes, but just a few moments ago she thought it would never happen. And he kissed her!
She smiled shyly, and said, "Yessum, it was a very good kiss." She had never really kissed a man before. She was quite inexperienced in this whole man/woman and chemistry thing. And now that their short burst of kissing was over, what was there to talk about? She grinned a little, "I'm not sure what to say now. Or what to do in this matter, I had rather hoped you would know. Perhaps I should go and you could find me another day? Maybe at the feast. I don't want to stay out past my curfew, unless you want to. . . talk. . . some more?"

R'dir settled himself. Really, what was this situation but an overreaction of the moment? He sighed. "I don't know what I want. I'd like you to stay here, although I don't really know why, and--"
Because you like her, remember? And I like here.
"Except that you're interesting to watch," he finished. Why had he kissed her again? Did he like her, in that way? Sure, she was interesting, but.... He could chalk it up to simply not have wanting her to leave, and so he got her to stay in the only way he knew how, but really, that was untrue. He hadn't had time to think about all that, and anyway, it wouldn't have been the logical response. No, the most logical response would have been to let her leave! he thought to himself angrily. He was just going to have to deal with the consequences of his actions and move in a forward-thinking direction. "What do you want to do, Panthea?"

Panthea smirked, "What I want to do and what I should do are two very different things, bronzer." She would have loved to stay and loved to have seen where the evening could have taken them, but she did not want to get into too much trouble lest she get found out by the candidate master. He was a forbidable man and she did not want to feel his wrath. What if there was a gold egg and he benched her? That would never do. She stood once more, "Really, R'dir, I must go, but I'd love it if you'd find me again. It's in your hands now."
She walked over to him and kissed him again, this time more sweeter and innocent than before. "I really must be going love, perhaps save a dance for me at the feast? I'd really like that."

R'dir stood as she walked over to him. "If I even go to the feast, I will certainly partner you on the floor," he told her, after returning the kiss. "If." He hadn't planned on going, but if she expected him there, he might show up. And they always did serve the best wines at the hatching feasts. He frowned. "I probably will, now."
Very chastely, he showed her to the door. After looking into the corridor to make sure no one would notice her leaving, he gave her a gentle push out into the hallway. "Now, go, before you get yourself into trouble." And me, the thought came forth unbidden.
