G'del had always been amazed at runners, and even now he was happy. Runners might be the next best thing to dragons, but yet they still didn't even compare. He strode up to a particular mare with a white star and he patted her nostrils, "Good gal, eh?" He spoke softly and the runner whinied. He pet her softly down the neck. "Riding was always fun for me, be it dragonback or runner back. Do you enjoy riding, milady?"
He turned to her, taking in her visage. She didn't seem too excited. He breathed in the heavily scented air. He supposed that mucking out the stable was just as bad when he was a candidate. Still he loved the stables.

Brook let herslef smile slightly and held out a tentative hand to the runner G'del had pointed to, letting her hand brush lightly against his as she petted the runner's soft nose. "I do enjoy riding. Dragonback preferably. But riding on a runner is next best." She said softly, her expression gorwing more pleasant by the second.
"So have you ridden your whole life? Do you own a runner?" She asked, rubbing her fingers lightly along the runner's nose and then drawing it away after a minute. "So can we go for a rider...or do you want to o to the next stop. I could also give you the first clue if you'd like..." She smiled at him, offering uo several courses of action.

"As a lad, my father let me ride his brown with him. So in that respect, perhaps I was wrong in not giving you that dragon-ride. But this is more fun, wouldn't you agree? I've ridden runners where ever I was, at Southern Hold, Weyr and even at the Hall I borrowed a runner from poor apprentice Yazil." He grinned at the memory of him riding off and Yazil screaming after him. Yazil always was just talk. He grinned, how close he was to getting into fights with his fellow apprentice many times. Yazil, now Y'zil had gone on to Impress a blue at Fort Weyr, he had heard. The boy had never expressed interest in dragons much at all until G'del started talking about returning home to stand in a hatching. "But I do not own my own runner. Wish I did-but then again, I always have Solarith to give me a lift. But perhaps we should move on with the tour."

Brook nodded. "Alright then...." She said turning towards the main Weyr. "But first, a clue." She clapped her hands happily and pulled out her sketchbook from her ever present art shoulder bag. She flipped over several pages until she foud the one she was looking for. Now she hadn;' ever actually seen this clue in person, but when a visiting artist had showed her his drawing, she had just had to copy it down. Which was fortuanate in the current situation.
She then passed the sketch to him. It was quite good and unimistakable to any dragonrider. It was Benden. The Weyr not the hold, although a drawing of the hold would have been preferable, but it got the point across. Benden. She then flipped it closed after a few seconds and grabbed the Bronzer's hand. "Ok then, off to the smithy."

G'del wondered at the sketch. What did Benden have to do with anything? He knew the layout was especially beautiful, and that it was one of the most comfortable of the old Weyrs, but still what was the clue meant for? Was the girl from Benden Weyr? It seemed unlikly, but then again he learned a long time ago that things were not always as they seemed. He was looking at the sketch when she shut it a touch abruptly, on then at that moment as she grabbed his hand, a brown firelizard popped from between and landed on G'del's shoulder. The bronzerider laughed lightly, "Ah, it would seem we have company."

Brook grinned at his expresion. Well they don't call it a clue if it totally gives away the answer. now she'd have to be on the lookout for her next clue. She didn't have a sketch of that one. She almost jumped at a new arrival. "Yours?" She asked. Where was hers at...and she had her egg too, she had to make sure to check on the egg soon. "Whats his name?" She asked. "And we'll be to the smithy soon-right now." She said, almost taken by surprise by the smith. She didn't go there often.
"So you have smith training?" She asked him. she had no trade, just her art, wich was a solitary craft so she didn't really understand the unit of the crafthalls. Everyone always seemed incredibly proud of their skills.

"Yes, his name is Stud." He paused, "I was an immature youth when I first got him." As if excusing himself from not naming the lizard something more refined and proper. He walked along side of her, "Ah, the smithy. Might get a little too hot in there for the two of us, so I won't make you linger long." He said that with no hint of flirtation in his voice. It wasn't meant to be noticeable, but he did like to see a lady blush or be speechless sometimes. Just for fun, to see just how modest a woman could be. "Yes, while I was born to a rider and his wife, I was sent to the Smith Hall where I stayed for nine years, Impressing soon after."

Brook tried not to laugh at the flits name. "I have one, a green. Her name's Savi. And i have an egg, but i dunno the color." She smiled at him but her attention was quickly turned away from lizards at his suggestive comment, or at least she interpreted it as such. She was kind of a pro at tellign when men were flirting with her...it happened a lot. "Aye, i can feel the heat too. Kind off, makes you want to take a swim hunh?" She asked and then had an idea. "How about i take you to the black lake now? That could be fun." She would wait for him to finish looking around th smithy, but going to the lake seemed loads better than just hanging out around the lower caverns.

G'del wandered around the smithy, noting that he would come back to talk to the place's master soon enough. He looked at her, and smiled very slightly, "Ah, the lake. Could be fun, if you weren't afraid of drowning." He said seriously, even though he was merely joking. He had no qualms about the water, even enjoyed swimming laps some afternoons. There were usually plenty of dragons there for Solarith to socialize with. Not to mention, there were riders that G'del usually found nice to talk to sometimes. Usually the bronzerider could be aloof, however, and he only had a few very close friends back home at Southern.

She looked shocked. "Me, drown do you underesitmate me so? Well then i challenge you to a race." She said facing him, hands on hips. "Now c'mon, lets go." She said and skipped a step before begining to walk towards the direction of the lake. She loved the lake, it was peaceful and nicely cool and a perfect place o spend the afternoon with a lovely new Bronzer.
"So how do you like the look of the Weyr." So far she asked as thay began making their way across the bowl. "Solarith can join us too if he likes. Most dragon adore the lake."

G'del nearly laughed. He had meant 'you' as in a hypothetical person, iplying himself, but it still got a more interesting topic going, "Are you sure you'd want to race me, fair lady?" He quickly caught up to her, smiling lightly, "I suppose I am too proud to refuse." After her question, he said without hesitation, "It is marvelous. Especially my weyr." He said evenly, with out hidden meaning. He truly liked his accomodations. "I am happy to see such a neat and tidy smithy, and Solarith is very pleased to not three healthy young queens. He would be happy to go for a swim."

Brook rubbed her hands together. "Absolutely." She said, grinning with anticipation. "Good, becuase i wouldn't take no for an answer." She nodded to him. "Good, it is quite the place...although i do miss my old home from time to time." She listened to his compliments of the Weyr, but was more excited by his agreement to have Solarith come. "Finally i get to meet the illusive Bronze." She said happily, she loved meeting dragons. After all someday she would ride one.
They reached the black lake and she immediatly began to strip of her clothes down to a light under dress that she could swim in and dove in with an excited woop and came up after a second, red hair slicked back in wet locks. "Oh come in G'del, the water's wonderful!"

Solarith had lept off his ledge and circled above the lake before diving into the center of the lake, creating quite a wave in all directions. He surfaced and then squirted water up, creating a large shower. Then Solarith floated around in the water, carefully watching Brook.
Show off
I won't deny it. The bronze rumbled, I like letting other people see me. I am a bronze in my prime, after all. Anyways, any friend of yours should have a good opinion of me.
G'del took off his tunic and boots. He waded into the water, looking at Solarith, the after shock of the wave weakly lapped against his knees. "It feels fine, sorry if Solarith frightened you."

Brook treaded water, waiting for G'del. Her eyes widened, turned up to the sky, watching the Bonze land in the water. She turned her face away and felt the water spray on her back. She whirled around again, grinning. She watched watched both G'del and the dragon. She shook her head, "Not at all."
She turned towards the middle of the lake. "Ok, for our race then. One loop of the lake?" She asked. She splashed the rider playfully and waited for a reply eagerly.

He suspected that there was very few things that actually would put fear into Brook. Then she mentioned the race. He had half forgotten about that. Well his pride wouldn't let him blow it off. He looked around the lake. His pride would be hurt if he lost, but it wouldn't permit him to quit. Impulsivly, "You're on, Brookie." He smirked, moving into place, getting ready to move quickly.
