Dulin shook off the little bit of the cold that still clung to his bones from the ride Between. He watched the dragon that had taken him to Ponaa Weyr glide back into the sky, and once again disappear. He never liked going between, and rides on the dragons always forced him to confront his vertigo, but the only other option for him was a sea voyage. Nope. Not happening anytime soon.
He stood a long lingering moment, even with the sun and his hair in his eyes, until he could no longer see the light on the dragon's wings, and even stood staring longer, the afterimage still fading from his retinas. Still.. they are a wondrous sight...
Longer overdue from breaking from his reverie, Dulin blinked his concentration back into focus, and looked down at his satchel. Such a meager thing, it was, the most valuable objects among them his instruments. He traveled light, in recent times, and was probably going to be keeping it that way in years to come. Only the essentials. So many things could be found at a person's destination, it was almost pointless to try to carry them the entire journey.
Easily hefting the modest load, Dulin took his first steps onto the grounds of Ponaa Weyr, looking at all the unfamiliar faces, and searching for the one who might remember him.

(Hope you don't mind handsome Bronzeriders...)
There was much to think of the last few weeks. Most of it things he ought not to think of. F'dan did what he could to keep his mind off of things. He threw himself into working more than he ever had, only to keep himself busy. Honestly he wasn't sure he liked the feeling of working that hard but it did keep him on the safer thoughts of food and sleep and of course taking care of Roderith.
For being one of the more well dressed men at the Weyr, F'dan was a poor example in that moment. He was dusty from Roderith's landing. The Bowl seemed dustier than usual of late, must be the lack of rain. He looked up from the ground to see a man standing there, looking a bit lost.
F'dan was about to say something to the man, but stopped short. This man's eyes were so very familiar. It took him only a moment to regain his composure and continue his greeting. "Excuse my intrusion on your thoughts. I'm F'dan of Bronze Roderith. I was wondering if you needed a navigational guide?" The blonde man had extended a lightly tanned hand in greeting.

((No, Dulin does not mind handsome Bronzeriders at all. ^_^))
Dulin shot out of his reverie when he heard a male voice speaking to what appeared to be him. He was surprised to be someone standing there, and almost walked right past him. He didn't even notice that the stranger stopped short before continuing talking to him. Blinking a few times, he looked up at the man who towered almost a half foot taller than him. He smiled at the handsome man, and instantly perked up to what the man had to say.
A Bronzerider? Well, at least I can still "oh" and "ah."
"Oh, no. I must apologize," Dulin said in his pleasant voice. "I was lost in my own thoughts. I have never been in a place like this and I suppose I feel a bit overwhelmed." He hefted his bag again, and shifted a bit in the dirt. "A guide would be... appreciated. Name's Dulin, I'm a Journeyman Harper. Just trying to find a place where I am needed." All right, so there are some minor ulterior motives, but those are all a surprise!

"No apology needed Harper Dulin." F'dan smiled and pointed to an entrance into the Weyr and out of the dusty bowl. "I think it will be easier if we get inside first. The Bowl is always full of traffic, both human and dragon. My own dragon just left for our ledge." He said, almost sorry the dragon was already back to napping.
He took a moment before walking toward where he had pointed. It only took a minute or two before he was at the door. He walked quickly and realized it might not be a pace the harper was used to. "Was there anyone in particular you wanted to speak with about accomadations?" F'dan, for all his experience here, would rather see a Weyrwoman than the Headwoman. Personal preference on his part, the Weyrwomen were all a bit more interesting to talk with and they weren't nearly as bossy as the Headwoman.
His little firelizard found him then, making a scene. He was cooing after landing on F'dan's shoulder. "Fall it! These things are a menace to society." The little brown rubbed his head on F'dan's neck. "Roady..." His voice warned the flit that he should stop his minstrations. There went his image.

Dulin did his best to keep up with the longer and faster strides of the Bronzerider, but in the end he fell a few feet behind. He took the opportunity to take a quick look at the man's shanks before returning his thoughts to the more present matters at hand.
"Accommodations? No, no one, really, considering I know almost no one here. I suppose, though, that you have someone in mind?" Dulin perked his head at F'dan when the little firelizard made its way onto the scene.
"So, it seems that you know this little guy," the Harper said, narrowing his eyes softly at Roady. The Harper had a soft spot in his heart for critters, especially because he went through a good portion of his life away from creatures typically found on land. A wave of nostalgia from Dulin didn't know where washed over him. Some memory of the past, some boy he once knew. It was momentary, and Dulin was sure that F'dan wouldn't notice... His mind always did wander so...
"This menace seems to take quite the like to you, Bronzerider F'dan," the Harper said with a smile.

"I should have returned the egg before he hatched and saved myself some trouble." That comment was much appreciated by his dragon though the firelizard, catching on to what was being spoken of, poked the man in the neck. "Eeek. Your such a spoiled little..." He glared at the firelizard who looked quite pleased with himself.
"For accomodations, most would take you to the Headwoman. I, however, much prefer to talk with the Weyrwomen. All three are less apt to be annoying." Not to mention he thought the Headwoman tried to make him stay longer about menial tasks than need be. "I'd suggest Senior Weyrwoman Lyrai or Junior Weyrwoman Ruet. The other Junior Weyrwoman, Tujal is busy with Amenth's clutch."
The Bronzerider wouldn't mind seeing either Ruet or Lyrai but he had a decidedly better relationship with Lyrai. "Its up to you. If you choose the Headwoman, please don't take offense if I don't accompany you."

Dulin did not attempt to hide the smile that crossed his face when he heard the name "Lyrai."
"Weyrwoman Lyria? Really? Senior Weyrwoman?" He nodded a few times to himself, and seemed to be thinking of something else for a moment. He seemed to be besides himself, though if he was going to elaborate on a reason as to why, he wasn't going to share it with F'dan.
"Yes. Let us see this Senior Weyrwoman." He seemed somewhat anxious, but in only the positive of ways.

"Do you know her?" He wondered at the man's reaction but decided not to press the matter. The Harper seemed to be reminiscing. F'dan was pleased with the decision of the Harper. "That will work out nicely. I was headed up that way anyway." He wouldn't mind seeing Lyrai. After all she was quite possibly the only woman who challenged him at the Weyr. Err the only available woman who challenged him.
Most the Goldriders did have some sort of attraction. At least that was him being honest. In private he would say that but in public he tried to seem distant from them. Especially lately. He was so caught up in his own thoughts he didn't even realize the Harper wasn't paying him any attention. "Follow me and we will get there in no time."

With both men focused on their own thoughts about the same Weyrwoman, they must have looked like an interesting sight to the common passerbyer. Neither of them seemed to realize that the other's attention was somewhere else, and Dulin snapped back to focus almost at the same time that F'dan did. His backwards thoughts, though, were still focused on Lyrai, and the kind of trouble that they would no doubt get into now that they would soon be reunited.
I can't wait to see the look on her face... She'll be thinking she'd seen a ghost. After allowing himself and inward chuckle, Dulin looked to F'dan. "Lead the way, Bronzerider." He hefted his satchel, and followed F'dan deeper into the Weyr.
