K'leren was gathered with some select blues and greens in the Weyrbowl. Hehad been told to meet here with the other Searchriders and get instructions on where to go. He was fairly certain he would be sent, with his group, to Ponaa Hold and to Tamah Hold. He rather thought he was being sent to Ponaa because of the altercation at Zharieth's hatching, but there was no way to prove that.
"Come on, Nemenath," he said to the great bronze. The dragon was preening. It was he that helped to put that gold egg on the sands. "Yes, everyone knows your prowess. Let's go."
I deserve it. The bronze chuckled, but stood where he was supposed to.
"Kabhi, bring Alth beside Nemenath. And call those blues over here too. They're coming with us."
"Aye, sir," the quiet greenrider said. Rumor had it that she was becoming rather involved with the assistant weyrlingmaster. She gathered the other riders.
K'leren reflected. N'mos had begged out of Searching today, on the premise that he had studying to do with the Thread charts. K'leren shrugged. The man was always full of excuses. He periodically wondered how Lyrai had let Zharieth choose him. But K'leren had his hands and heart full with Ruet. He smiled. She was the love of his life. A good woman with a smart head on her shoulders. And a beautiful gold to boot.
Agreed. K'leren chuckled. Nemenath was enamored with Sharieth as K'leren was with Ruet.
"Alright, Riders, listen up. We're about to head out to Ponaa and Tamah Holds."

Bronze Roderith landed only a moment after a lithe little green. Though he found greens attractive, he tried not to bring the subject up to his rider. After all F'dan was still on the rebound from that awful woman, the one who had his son. Luckily they were on time, since it had taken F'dan quite some time to get ready. He had packed more than was usual for search but he had to have a seperate outfit for when he saw his mother.
As K'leren finished up with where he was going. F'dan approached him. He was wearing his black riding leathers which was usually best for these sorts of trips, then he stood out and looked rather dashing. "excuse me Wingsecond K'leren. Might I have a word?" He wasn't sure what the outcome of this would be but N'mos and Lyrai had insisted he go in N'mos' place.
After they were out of earshot of most of the other riders he spoke again, "The Weyrleader sent me to lead a Search party in his absence." In other words, he didn't know where K'leren needed him to go but he was well prepared to help. "I am from Monaco Bay Hold if that area is still open for searching..." He would love to see his home again, if only to reaffirm to himself that leaving had been the right choice. Roderith of course found this all silly but he had wanted to lead a search party and so he didn't care where they went so long as he got to do it.

(I hope Shay is invited?) Shaylin had her wonderful Horazith all ready to go. This was the highlight of her turn, and it would seem that she would be busy, at least for a time. The woman in her mid twenties had gathered with the other dragons, one of them cooing about some bronzerider or another. Shaylin scoffed at her, muttering that they were good for nothing. . . Shaylin had never met a bronzerider yet that enamored her, or infatuated her at that. She came close to loving a bluerider, but he turned out to be really dumb and she found out she was a jealous lover. Not that it was very easy to get close to Shaylin, she was known to not keep a weyrmate for long. Men. . .
Shaylin had walked away from some of the other gossipy greenriders, and the armorous blueriders, just to hear F'dan speak. There weren't many other riders around, and she hoped she wasn't stepping over her bounds, but she added, "Aye, I'm from Monaco Bay Hold, too sir, so if you could send me there, I'd greatly appreciate it."
She'd like to see Gran again. It had been so long, and she knew that the old woman would be missing the last of her kin. Shaylin might get an ear full if she did visit Farrah, but it would be worth it. It was Shaylin's last known relative, and she wasn't sure how long her grandmother would live. She was a hardy woman, Farrah was, but you never knew. And it had been such a long time since her last visit home.

K'leren smiled at F'dan. "Aye, I remembered where you were from, F'dan. I was asked to send you to Fort Weyr today, as well, to pick up some candidates from their leftovers. So I don't see what an extra excursion to Monaco Bay would hurt. Yes, and don't forget to Search the smaller cotholds around there too. It's unlikely, but you never know what kind of hill folk you'll pick up from around there." An excited greenrider bounded up to him, and stood next to F'dan. K'leren was almost overwhelmed by her copious amounts of energy.
"Aye, I'm from Monaco Bay Hold, too sir, so if you could send me there, I'd greatly appreciate it," Shaylin (he remembered her name) asked him. He sighed.
"Greenrider Shaylin, I've been instructed to keep wings together as well as possible. It's better looking for the Weyr if all the members of a wing know each other. I'd like to say yes, but I'm afraid you'll have to stick with Alpha Wing today." He grimaced; his contrition wasn't faked. "But I'll see if I can't work out an excursion to Monaco Bay for you in the next few days, alright?" His tone guaranteed results. "Seems like you don't want to just Search Monaco. Guessing you'd like to see some family, and that's allowed."
He turned back to F'dan, and his posture indicated dismissal for Shaylin. He was truely sorry he couldn't send her to Monaco, but the Weyr had to look good in front of the Holds and Crafts. "F'dan, it would appear we need to split Beta wing Searchriders. It's just as well; Beta's getting too big for its britches anyway." A grin quirked his mouth at his little joke. "So I'm going to take some riders to Southern and that surrounding area. You take riders to Fort Weyr and to Monaco and it's areas. I'slen, if he ever shows up, will be taking a group to the remaining areas." K'leren nodded, and leaned in close to the othr bronzerider. "This," he whispered, "will be your biggest chance to prove to Lyrai that you mean business. If you plan to win Zharieth's next flight, this is the base for your success. I suggest you do well." He stood up to his full height and nodded. "Gather your riders. Dismissed."
((If any of you all want to post in here, now's your time to get it done. We're going A-Searching tomorrow.))

Shaylin was not happy with this news. She had not expected him to help her out or do her a favor, but she thought it wouldn't have been a big deal. Shaylin scolded herself for getting her hopes up, and when he told her no, and that she was going to fly with Alpha, she gritted her teeth and said, "Yes, sir."
The bronzerider turned his back on her without another word. She stopped herself from totally seething, however, some of her excitment had disapated. It was the arrogance of a bronzerider. The arrogance that came with rank. This was why she had found nothing particularly attractive in rankers. She turned swiftly from him, her wheat hued hair flipped. She'd have to bind it in a coil before she left. She had not been satisfied with his efforts for her holiday, but who would speak out against a bronzerider? Only one who rode bronze or gold, and she rode neither.
Horazith crooned softly, trying to cheer up Shaylin, who was attaining her chilly and stern exterior once more. We fly with Alpha, love. I know it. The green responded softly.

"Alright!" K'leren yelled. "Alpha, you're with I'slen. Get yourselves to Southern and to Paradise River, and get us some good candidates." He smiled and gave the sign for dismissal. "F'dan, take your Searchers in Beta One to Fort, and on your way back, stop by at Monaco Bay and pick up some candidates there. I'll take Beta Two to Southern and to Ponaa Hold." He smirked; anyone could have guessed why he wished to visit the Hold of Lord Rakken. And no one could have blamed him.
((Okay. Everyone get to your Holds and start Searching. We need Searching finished up by...Valentine's Day. So, next Wednesday.))
