Raelwyn sat the edge of the lake, watching the water just ebb and flow against the shore. The girl took a deep breath, then sighed softly, her eyes closed as a slight breeze kicked at her hair. It was dusk, and most of the weyr’s denizens were in the weyrhall eating their dinner, so she was blissfully alone. Emerald gaze fixed on the black waters before her, then traveling up slowly to watch as the stars began to appear, she smiled. Sandals discarded beside her, light skirt and white tank top, Rael was comfortable and content. She leaned back, putting her weight on her palms behind her, and tilted her head to the side and rubbed her cheek against her fire lizard’s side. Crooning lightly, the little bronze raised his head and regarded her with whirling blue eyes, making her smile again.
She held out her hand next to her shoulder, and Tydus crawled onto her arm, already reaching all the way to her elbow. Setting the bronze in her lap, Raelwyn fell back silently, crossing her arms behind her head and watching the night sky. Her ferocious guardian curled up on her stomach, his tail slowly coiling back and forth. Laughing, the girl ran a finger down the little one’s spine gently, listening with a grin as he gave another pleased croon. Nights like this, warm and scented with the rich fragrance only the South held, made the Fort-born forget her homesickness. She even missed G’mir less.
Stretching her arms out, the queen candidate strained her back until all of the day’s fatigue and stiff muscles worked out. “I could get used to this, Ty.” Rael said softly, and the bronze hummed his agreement. The girl grinned. He was probably only happy because she was not with a boy. Even if she had not Impressed, even if she had not seen G’del since the feast, at that moment, that night, everything was wonderful. It was warm, the sound of the lake was peaceful, and the dark sky made a blanket above her. The girl found herself thinking about Z’fan then, wondering what he and Evenoth were doing as her hand trailed idly in the sandy dirt. His company, along with Panna’s or Toya’s, would be only ones welcome to intrude upon her solitude, and perhaps a couple of select bronzers. Raelwyn curled her knees, watching Pern’s two moons glow brightly and the stars shine with white fire. Tydus hummed lowly, the vibrations from his chest tickling her stomach. She smiled and sighed again.

Toya had been wakened by Chresayth, who had wanted to eat, then play. All of Toya's time had been taken up with the young green, as when she wasn't eating, sleeping, or being adminastered in the other ways she needed, she wanted to play. Tonight the green wanted to play on the shore. Toay had slept when she could, and had almost turned nocturnal. It was such a beautiful night, and Toya was glad that Chresayth had begged so hard as to get her rider to come out. She slowly made her way to the shore, Chresayth had ran ahead of her, but Toya was in no hurry.
Chresayth ran steight to Raelwyn, and stopped just before running over her, spraying the girl with dirt. The young dragon then playfully tugged at the girl's hair.

F'dan watched as Roderith took off after his bath. The Bronze was off to have a good meal, while his rider walked to the dining hall. Unfortunately on the way there, he was distracted by a Weyrling green causing a slight disturbance. He was only two footsteps away from the dragonet and the girl on the ground, who had undoubtaedly recieved a bit of dirt in her face. "Lady are you alright?" The Bronzer was always formal with women, it seemed to be much appreciated most of the time.
He took a moment to look ove the green dragonet, judging by her size, she'd be from the most resenct Hatching. "Pretty little green, you ought to be more careful. You could hurt someone, letting yourself get ahead of yourself. Go more slowly and you will appear much more graceful." F'dan admonished the little green.
The Bronzerider hardly paid attention to what he was wearing at the lake. Though he normally prided himself on fine clothes. Today he had taken his shirt off to bathe Roderith and it was tied loosely about his waist. His sandals were in his hands as he hadn't worn thick boots. F'dan was getting a good tan and his hair, already blonde was growing lighter with all the time he had been spending outdoors of late.

Chresayth cocked her head as she was being talked to, then took what he said as dirrections for a new game called "graceful" and began to move very slowley, so slow that she barely seemed to move, toward the man, her eyes whirrling rapidly, as she liked new games.
A few seconds later Toya walked up, having not noticed the happinings. She had been daydreeming. Chresayth bruoght Toya back, when she happily exclaimed This is fun! Toya then saw her friend Real, and ran to give her a hug.

((It’s appreciation of good-lookin’ man. ^_~ No crushing here.))
Tydus screeched in surprise as the young dragonet sprayed both he and his beloved master with dirt, standing on her stomach and giving the green a glare. Eyes whirling red, the little bronze hissed his reproach, stretching his small wings to their fullest expanse. Raelwyn cried out her surprise, immediately sitting up and brushing dirt from her face. Good thing her eyes had been closed. Her anger was riled as the green began pulling at her hair, though it seemed her firelizard was being vocal enough for the both of them. Grabbing her hair, the candidate shot a glare the dragonet’s way, looking about for the weyrling’s rider. Her ‘perfect night’ was ruined.
However, her attention was suddenly focused on a man’s voice, and the girl turned to see who it was that had spoken. Eyebrows lifting, Rael took in the man’s appearance with appreciative eyes, though it was dark out so it was likely he would not catch the admiration in her green gaze. A man, no, undoubtedly a rider, stood a mere two paces away, inquiring after her and reprimanding the little green. He was built incredibly well and had the face of a lady slayer. Bronze rider, she was sure.
Standing, brushing dirt off her clothes, Raelwyn was beyond embarrassed to have been caught in a situation like that, especially by such a very fine, fine man. It could have only been worse had he been G’del or Z’fan, and that was it. As it stood, her face turned a dark pink. “Define ‘alright’, sir rider.” The gold hopeful replied, grinning a bit. Shaking out her hair, trying to get at least some semblance of dignity back, she watched with unveiled amusement as the dragonet began moving slowly. “I am fine. My sincerest appreciation for your concern. Weyrlings will be weyrlings.” The girl got over her irritation quickly, considering she knew how young dragons were.
Turning to the rider, still unable to get over how hot he was, the gold hopeful brushed some of her blonde hair out of her face. “I am Raelwyn, by the way, a candidate.” She tried to cover her embaressment. Her bronze, in the meantime, had taken up his usual residence on her shoulder, his tail wrapped up in her hair and nestled in the curve of her neck. He hissed at F’dan with eyes whirling red, jealous as ever with a man around her. When Toya ran up and hugged her, she realized who the green was. “Toya!” She exclaimed, “I have not seen you in ages!” Rael would have to get in the lake soon and wash off that dirt. She was not going to around shirtless like the bronzer though....

The Bronzerider grinned. She seemed more than a little embarrassed about all this but F'dan didn't see why she should feel that way. It wasn't as if she had been the one flinging dirt. "Lady you know what I meant." He smiled. He was used to women givign him a hard time. Not only had he been dealing with his association with certain Goldriders but now he was even having to deal with women he didn't know.
"No need to scowl at me, little Bronze. I mean your Lady no harm." He smiled, flits were rather silly creatures, Even his brown was a bit vain at times. "Candidate Raelwyn, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am F'dan of Bronze Roderith." He turned to see who the girl was now greeting. He let them talk while watching the green. "You are doing excellent well, young one. Sorry that Roderith is not here to see you." She had not lost patience yet, which, for a green was saying something.

Raelwyn caught the man’s grin at her reply, quirking a brow in the slight darkness. The two moons were appearing, and though not full, they still lent the darkness some light, bathing their faces in glows and shadows. It would soon be too late for either rider or weyrling to get any supper, though the night hearth would be open, she reasoned. The candidate could get a better look at the tall man now, and she studied his face for a moment. He seemed familiar to her, though she could not place him right off. He was undoubtedly a bronzer, though, for he had that self-assured, arrogant air about him; the girl would almost stake her chances of Impression on it. Almost.
F’dan. That name struck a note with her somewhere, thought the girl did not quite realize it right off. Naturally, she had been correct about his dragon, though. “Well met, bronzerider.” Rael tilted her head to the side slightly, watching her little bronze become rather alarmed and hiss a warning. He was always so when a man approached the candidate. He had even bit Z’fan, which the firelizard quickly learned was a mistake. The gold hopeful made sure he knew better than to try it again from that day forward. “Tydus always acts like this when I am around a man, sir. He seems to be the jealous type, though I hardly think he has anything to be jealous about.” The girl raised a brow and let a smile tug at the corner of her mouth, clearly jesting. After all, it was not as if she was so attractive she was hunted by every man that saw her. She was cute, as was every gold candidate they brougth in, but nothing more.
Suddenly, she realized why he looked so familiar. He was the wingrider that had slipped away with Lyrai during the Feast, the same feast she and Z’fan.... Err, anyway, now she knew why his face struck a chord with her. “Oh, my duty to your Roderith, sir, though I have not had the pleasure of meeting him.” Raelwyn always made her duty to the dragons when she met a rider, just as it was with G’del and I’slen. She always thought it rude to leave a dragon out of the conversation, especially since they were just as much a part of the rider as their own soul. They should be greeted too.
