Just a quick note, no Terran names. Also it would be very rare for a female to be a Harper, because of the prejudice of the times so she would have to be extremely talented Ie: Menolly talented, to become a Harper and if that was the case she probably wouldn't have ever been searched. I know you're still working on this, but pretty please use our spell check. It really makes things much less confusing.

Its Japanese. And many of the other crafts would be the same, save for maybe weaving and maybe baking. Women at this time were seen to be simply caretakers of the family. It would be rare for a holdbred woman to have a major craft vocation outside that. Not to mention at this time it would be far more common that women, esp gold canidates/ riders come from the Weyr. (Ponaa's golds are quite the exception at this time)
I don't know if you have, but if you are going to make a gold candidate I strongly suggest that you read the other goldrider bios we have up. Also be prepared for her to Impress another color as we will be giving out any more golds very, very sparingly at this point. So you'll have to really impress us and earn it ^_~.

It would be more likely, yes. But kind of overdone if you ask me ^^; Ruet is probably the only Healer/Goldrider we will ever have. Be creative! an have fun! There is a ton of things you can do that will make your character stand out. Having a craft training isn't a must, in fact many dragonriders don't have any background in crafts. So try something you haven't before and see where it goes. Remember any of us would be happy to help anytime! ^_^

Well, I'm not Blue, but I am a GM and therefore qualified.
I'll tell you that it's very, very unlikely for two dragons to fall in love without a human motivation. You really, really need to read the books. There are many little nuances in them that tell you how dragons act. But for now, I'll just tell you that dragons were not created to be able to act on their own in that way. Now, if the rider needs something, a dragon (well, a higher color. Generally speaking, the bronzes and golds are more intelligent than the rest), will be likely to get it for them. But they don't act of their own like that. The fact that her parents were homosexual would even further suggest the unlikeliness.
Just because Blue says the Healer thing is overdone doesn't mean that you have to make every thing about Pharra sound brand new and like it's never been done. There are quite a lot of average people in the world, that's why they are called average. My advice is to make her from say...Monaco Bay Hold. Or Cove Hold. Anywhere in the South, really. Or you can make her a leftover candidate from Fort Weyr.
Ooh, ooh, idea! Make her from...say...Tamah Hold, or surrounding area, and I'll Search her myself, with K'leren. That way, you have time to get to know the character before she immediately becomes a Gold candidate.
Further suggestions: maybe make her father a rider, and her mother a holder. And maybe her mother was a weyrlady, but left when Pharra's father left her. Nine months later, out pops Pharra. Her father doesn't know, and at first, her mother didn't want her at the Weyr. But Pharra expressed a want to go, so her mother, who loves her very much, let her go on the promise that if she didn't Impress, she'd come home. This will introduce a bit of drama for the character, a motivator, if you will. Say that the only Pharra knows is that her dad is a rider and she greatly favors him in appearance.
*gasp* Maybe she'll find him! *sighs a dreamy sigh*
Anyway, that's just my idea. It's up to you.
Good luck! IM me, if you like. All my messengers are under my profile.
