Shaylin was very pleased with T'ryus and she grinned wickedly up to him, She said softly so that only he could hear her, "Then you should surprize me. Only say the word and we'll ditch this place." When he brought her to the dance floor, she made sure that there was as little between them as possible, and was glad with his song choice. He did drive her mad, horribly mad. If only she could forsee the future.
"Wicked way, huh? I could go for that." She smirked, she was in very capable hands, she was sure. Shaylin never even stopped to wonder why he vexed her so, or why she let him. Perhaps he lacked the same kind of arrogance as bronze? No, there's was an ambitious arrogance, they had theirs by rank. T'ryus was perhaps confident, a little arrogant that he was a superior flirt. He was, she couldn't deny that, even though at times he slather compliments kind of thick. Shaylin looked into his eyes and and grinned mischeiviously. This was perhaps the beginning of a great, but fiery, relationship.

"Careful, Green Eyes!" Z'fan laughed and caught the girl with his right arm, and pulled her not only back to her feet but oh-so-suavely out to the dance floor. "We wouldn't want to harm that lovely face of yours. And what a beautiful sight for tired eyes it is," he said. "Care for a dance, Raelwyn?" The question was only a front; he was going to dance with her that evening. The dance floor was really too crowded already, but he managed to find a way through for them, all the time getting pats on the back for Impressing such a lovely brown. "Thanks, thank you, sir," he replied, his eyes constantly on Raelwyn. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ R'dir sighed. He didn't know why the Fall he had bothered to come to this event, other than he just wanted to recognize Ruet and K'leren and their clutch. He wandered in, grabbed the first glass of wine that he saw, and continued on to the happy couple. He found them, told them how healthy he found the clutch, and went to find a seat. He wasn't sure if he'd see Panthea that evening, or even if he wanted to. The kiss that they had shared had left him a veritable tempest of emotion. And that was a feeling he didn't like. He found a seat at his table, recently vacated by people now dancing. Sitting, he finished his glass of wine (it'd only been a half-glass anyway, that's why he had chosen it), and helped himself to the large amounts of food on the table. On his plate, he putted roast wherry, candied tubers, bits of redfruit, and a roll. He nodded his head. Perfect. As he ate, he looked around to observe the people.

Raelwyn caught her breath when the weyrlings’s arm came about her, beautifully saving her from a rather nasty fall. Her startled green eyes met his, and she wondered how he had managed to be at her side in time to catch her. The moment his arm circled her and he laughed, she forgot all about her jealousy towards Lyrai and her beauty. Z’fan’s good humor was contagious, and she found herself laughing as well, albeit a bit nervously. The candidate was still a slight shaken. He took the opportunity to guide her elegantly to the dance floor, and she could not say no. G’del….she could ask him for a dance later. The feast was long, and there was nothing wrong with her spending some time with one of her dearest friends and congratulating him on his Impression. Besides, tonight….was for him. “You always seem to be at the right place at the right time for me, dear Piper.” She said, smiling. It would have been a terrible fall if not for him.
He called her beautiful. Raelwyn blushed, feeling her cheeks grow pink as he watched her, and a funny little tug in her stomach made her aware of an emotion that sparked in her. The girl had been told she had beautiful eyes, a pretty face, that she was cute, and a fair few boys spent their time hitting on her. Yet, none of them called her beautiful, or lovely, not even G’del. It was something sweet. “My dear, tired Rider, a dance would be an honor.” She replied, aware that his sea-green eyes never left her, even as he accepted the well wishes of those about him. Her hand went to his shoulder, and with her other clasped warmly in his larger, calloused hand, she moved with him in the dance. “Congratulations, my dear Piper, on your lovely brown Evenoth. I must meet him soon.” Rael said, smiling, though feeling a little funny. He had called her lovely, called her beautiful. Sweet, sweet boy.
~~~~~
T’ryus was beginning to understand this greenrider better. She was pleased with his response, and he knew what kind of treatment from him she desired. The harper was a teasing man, but he also loved to play dangerous games, and he loved to play them with women. He was starting to tire of pulling her along in his clever dance of tongue, and felt it was the time for more action, not words. Quirking a brow, he laughed lowly, huskily, his black eyes hot on her face. “If only I could, love, I would have you now.” Rather indifferent if anyone saw him or not, the Weyrsinger pulled her indecently close in their dance and kissed her neck below her ear, his hand trailing down the small of her back. “Unfortunately…” He murmured, his mouth trailing over her skin as he did, “I must sing. Remember?”
He lifted his face, a bit reluctantly, and gave her a smirk. That mischievous little grin of hers was dangerous, because it taunted him. Women found him to be sensual, and a terribly cunning flirt and seducer, but inside him lived a flame of desire that could not be quenched. It was obvious why green Lyreth had looked to him. Even he had his limits, and T’ryus had just decided he wanted Shaylin. Soon.
No. Now.
The expression upon his features darkened, and he growled lowly in his throat. His black eyes were like fire when he looked at the greenrider. “Then my wicked way I shall have. I will sing, love, then I am taking you with me.” The dance done, the Weyrsinger gave her one last kiss and gave her look that clearly stated he would be back for her, then strode to the stage. His muscular form made him look good as he took his violin, then he began to sing in his low, spell-weaving voice.
G'del watched Rael be sweeped away by a boy her own age. A new weyrling. He had been so stupid to ever think she fancied him. He ran a hand through his hair and mentally scolded himself. She was young, so what would she want with a man in twenties? Of course her beau must be this kid. He had read too much into things again, and felt defeated once more. He stood, noting that Lyrai had disapeared. Well, now he didn't want to stay and headed for the door. --- Panthea saw as her friend got intercepted by a young brown weyrling. She thought G'del was a bronzerider, and an adult rider. . . In fact she knew he was, but who was this? Then she recognized him. The weaver in the common room. She smiled, so Rael had it hot for two young men. Good taste, too, if Panthea said herself. She looked for R'dir and wondered breifly if he would ask her to dance. She spotted him almost immediately and he was eating, should she disrupt him? She walked over, she definately wouldn't mind another one of his kisses. She hadn't even told Rael about them yet. She smiled to herself and made her way through the crowd to him. Finally making it to him, she sat down next to him.
"So were you going to ask me to dance, or am I going to ask you? I s'pose I could just ask you now. You wanna dance, bronzerider?" ---- As they were dancing, Shaylin drew circles on the back of his neck with her finger and smiled at him, "Yes love, I know you must sing." She felt like a new bride, even though she had never married, and knew that this must be what it was like. If the said couple loved eachother. Or at the very least lusted like Shay and T'ryus.
After he kissed her, her stray hand came up and rested on the spot where he had planted his kiss. She smiled, and listened to his beautiful voice, happy that she would make him hers.
Z'fan noticed her blush and smiled. Good, so he was getting to her. The look of adoration still graced her beautiful face, and he glanced up only in time to see G'del leave the room in a huff. Good riddance to bad rubbish, he thought, somewhat peevishly and more than a little possessively, but he quickly dispelled those sorts of thoughts. She had never indicated that she might like him, and really, he had never made mention of it. But it seemed to be a day of discovery, both inside and out, and he was determined to see it through, even if it meant possible heartbreak for himself.
"I will always be there for you, my Green Eyed Lady, whether you be falling or dancing, smiling or otherwise." He grinned impishly at her and winked. "You had better meet Ev sooner than later." He grinned wider even thinking of the brown dragon. And really, he was almost as big as a bronze hatchling anyway. Better than a bronze, he thought. Evenoth was asleep.
Z'fan led them through the dance, which quickly Rallentandoed into a lovely slow dancing song. He hooked his hands around her waist, effectively making her put her arms around his neck. He nodded. 'Much better."
Raelwyn followed her sweet partner about the dance floor, glancing over his neck in time to see G’del leave the weyrhall. Her eyes widening slightly, the girl gasped softly to herself, completely stilling for a moment. The candidate soon recovered, trying to act as if nothing was amiss, but she worried for the Wingleader. What was wrong? Why did he leave? Her brow furrowing a slight, the blonde lost sight of the man as they turned in the dance, and when she looked again he was gone. Well, so much for her brilliant idea of asking him to dance later.... However, she was not going to leave Z’fan. Even if she did have a healthy crush on the Wingleader, Rael was loyal to those she cared about, and Z’fan was her best guy friend. She had to spend some time with him at his hatching feast.
Besides that, she actually was enjoying being with the young brownrider, and the candidate could always seek out the bronzer tomorrow. Which, she certainly planned on doing. Her green eyes finally returning to Z’fan’s face, the gold hopeful smiled, aware that her blush was returning. Why did he have to say such things to her? It left her speechless, which was a feat for a girl like Raelwyn. “I rather think I would be smiling if you were around, my sweet Piper.” She replied, grinning when he mentioned his dragonet. “Yes, I would be honored to meet your Evenoth.”
The song suddenly bled soft, and a slow, lovely melody wrapped about the dancers. Raelwyn wondered if the weyrling before her would take his leave at a slow song, but he surprised her. Z’fan’s hands went about her waist, closer to her now, and she responded the only way she could. Her arms about his neck, the Fort-born felt that infernal blush growing, unable to deny that it felt good to be held. Rael raised her green eyes, meeting his, and had to admit that she could get used to being treated like this. “Careful, my dear Piper, you are feeding the fire of my ego.” She said softly, intending it as a jest at the first, but it did not come out that way. Her voice was far too quiet and her eyes too serious.
"If your ego is so low that this feeds it brightness," Z'fan replied, "then the fire could use a little stoking." He smiled at her, knowing how completely serious she had been. She had meant to hide some of the sincerity, but it hadn't worked. Girls like Raelwyn were no good at lying. He led her through a series of twirls and spins, and then pulled her back close to him. He liked how short she was; he was pretty sure he had at least five inches on her. It always happened the same way, that--he liked short girls. They were cute...but Raelwyn was in a different league than cute. She was cute, yes, but beautiful, attractive, lovely, alluring, angelic, the synonyms went on and on. He slouched lower for her arms to accomodate his height.
Of course, this had the double effect of putting his face close to hers. He leaned to her ear. "You are gorgeous. Don't ever believe otherwise."
Raelwyn giggled softly, unable to stop herself from feeling a little girlish pleasure at the weyrling’s sweet compliments. He was undeniably one of the most endearing boys she had ever met, and he was kind. It was indeed truly rare to find one such as him. Following the new rider through their dance, Rael smiled softly as he lead her through the steps, feeling her pink blush color her cheeks. It seemed he kept her blushing, but she did not mind. The candidate liked being with him. When he pulled her close again, the girl blushed darker, noticing how he had to bend down for her arms to fit around his neck. He did have a good five inches on her, at least, maybe six.
Though, when he did bend down for her, kind as it was, it put his face right before hers. Rael felt her heart pick up a beat, the tempo slightly quicker. He was sweet, yes, and kind, but why had she never noticed how very....charming he was? The brown weyrling had an adorable face, the kind that made girls melt, and his words were captivating, bewitching even. The boy leaned closer, his face beside hers as he spoke by her ear. The gold hopeful caught her breath, though it was so soft she barely heard it, and felt her fingers curl against his neck of their own volition. “Gorgeous?” Raelwyn asked softly, turning so her face was beside his. She had never been told that before, not even close, and it melted her like butter over a flame. “Oh, Z’fan...I'm not....there are many women here more lovely than I.”
R'dir felt the weight hit the chair next to his. He looked up from a delicious breadroll to see his dark blue eyes meet Panthea's own. "Good evening, miss," he said, after swallowing the roll. "I don't know about dancing, Panthea. I'm not sure it's wise." He raised a hand to indicate all of the observers around them. "People might get the wrong impression, you as young as you are," he said, only half-teasing. Dance with the girl.No! And anyway, shush. Tujal can hear you.She's not listening. Panthea wants to dance. Dance with her. "My very fine dragon seems to think that I ought to dance with you. I suppose that's two over one, isn't it?" he asked, half-smiling. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ "Oh, Z'fan," Rael said, blushing brightly. She mumbled a bit, but he heard her words. "...There are many women here more lovely than I." Z'fan blinked. She seemed to really think it was true. Amazing. How silly girls could be! "Are there?" he asked, shrugging. "I hadn't noticed." He grinned boyishly. "If you haven't noticed, I've only got eyes for you," he said, winking at her. It was true. And there it was, he realized. He had admitted, to an extent, some sort of the feelings he had for her. It hadn't been too hard. "Heh, sorry," he said, looking away and blushing some across his ears.
The greenrider enjoyed attention lavished on her, as much as her dragon did. When he brought his arm around her, Elske's heart raced. She ate some of her food and had a sip of wine. After a few bites she decided she was full. Either this was because she was nervous, more nervous than she had been in a long time or it could be that she was anticipating the dance.
"I wouldn't keep a fine man like you waiting that long. Just long enough." She said it smugly and gave him a sideways glance. Her mind was telling her yet again that he was much too good for her. Elske couldn't help herself.
"Now, about those dances..."
H’seo watched Elske as he put his arm around her, hoping that she would not appear displeased that he did. Since she did not seem to mind, the lanky man grinned and went to eating his food, wolfing it down with gusto as usual. Though he had the healthy appetite of a dragon, the bluerider always stayed trim and fit, but that could be attributed to having the metabolism of a racing runner. He did notice that the lady at his side did not eat much, but then again, perhaps she did not like to dance on a full stomach. He had not though of that himself.
Washing the excellent meal down with some good wine, H’seo grinned at the greenrider beside him, laughing. She sounded rather smug when she spoke, but he knew she spoke in jest. “I’m mighty to glad to hear it, m’lady.” The lanky man replied, nodding to a few of his wingmates that passed by, done with eating and ready for some fun. The bluerider was ready for some fun too.
“I wouldn’t keep you waitin’ a moment longer, Elske.” H’seo drawled, smiling at her as he stood and bowed, offering the lady his hand. “May I have the honor of this dance?”
~~~~~~
Raelwyn could feel her soft blush warm her cheeks as she quietly whispered her reply, but at the weyrling’s next words, they burnt as if touched by a flame. The new rider seemed to be in cool control of himself, but the things he said to her....it made her feel so strange! The candidate’s green eyes widened, and she stared at him, wonder and surprise on her dainty features. She tried to interpret his words, wondering if he deeply meant those sweet, sweet sentiments, or if it was meant between friends. Her fingers, curled against his neck, moved nervously against his skin.
“Eyes only for me? Beautiful eyes. Like the ocean.” The gold-hopeful said softly, looking at those sea-green depths. In her opinion, her emerald could not compare. Rael was caught up in the moment, too busy watching the brownrider with a question in her eyes to realize that a certain someone on her shoulder was waking up from his nap. She had become so accustomed to the bronze’s small weight on against her skin that she hardly realized he was there anymore.
When the boy looked away, Raelwyn felt her heart fall, and she caught his cheek against her hand. “Sorry? My dear Piper, for wha–”
A loud screech cut off her reply. Tydus rose, unfurling his wings to their grandest expanse with eyes whirling red. Jealous little bugger he was, the firelizard immediately hissed a warning at Z’fan, then darted forward with a quick reflexes. Unfortunately, since the two were so close in dancing, the bronze had an easy target, and he bared his teeth, intending to leave a good, purple bruise and blood on the weyrling’s arm....
~~~~~~
T'ryus still sang for the Feast, but soon, he thought, black eyes dark with intent upon Shaylin, he would have what he desired....
She downed a little more wine and thought she wouldn't mind if he did keep her waiting. Most people she would probably not want to wait for. That was the problem with all this. She couldn't trust herself to only lightly attach herself to this man. He was charming, sweet, handsome and yet somehow he was intriguing.
While mulling over a couple last things she reached out to Isleith but the dragon had fallen asleep. The greenrider did her best not to giggle and ruin the seriousness of his proposal to dance. She extended her white hand to him and used it to stand up next to him. Glad she had not fallen and made a complete fool of herself she smiled at her partner. "Of course, as many dances as you like..." Perhaps that was not normal for her, but tonight she was behaving differently from her normal self.
Panthea smirked at the idea of caring what other people thought. Sure she did, she always took care to have a good reputation. But, she wanted to dance as well. She wanted to take a few chances. "Young as I am? I am nearing my ninteenth turn, sir, I think I can handle a dance and a few looks. Besides I doubt anyone cares. I am not any one of importance and you're a randy bronzerider. It's pretty much expected of you to dance with a young woman such as myself." She smiled at him with mock innocence. He paused then, and she assumed his dragon was talking to him. She hoped his bronze on her side!
It turns out the bronze was. She beamed, "Even though I question the one nay, I'll take it." She held out her hand for him to take it and lead her to the dance floor. She would have just taken it, she was so relieved he didn't reject her all together, but she'd still let him lead her.
