H'var looked directly at her as she spoke, many foudn this unnerving but he thought that giving someone your undivided attention was necessary to understand fully what they were saying. She was a bit long winded but it wasn't a bother. It was a good telling of how she ended up here. "I for one am glad you have decided to make your home at the Weyr. You never know what will happen. There is no such thing as coincedence, you came here because this is where you ought to be."
"Yes, the firelizards do tend to cause more trouble than they are worth... mine is quite happy at his older age..." He gave the firelizard a mental image of being sleepy all the time and growing wrinkly. Kes was soo mad he glared angrily at his klah. In reality the firelizard felt perfectly fit at 15 turns old.
Looking away from the angry flit to keep from laughing, H'var looked across at Brook again. Nineteen. She looked even younger but she had a good chance to impress still at that age. A few more years and she would be the most depressed person who never had a dragon... For her sake he hoped she impressed and well.

Brook did't even notice H'var's gaze. Although she was usually incredibly perceptive, she was too tired to you her artist observation skills. "As am I. It's quite a place." She liekd the idea that she was meant to come here. Maybe that meant it wouldn't all be in vain.
"They do seem to be good at mischief but Sav isn't so bad. She not that old and pretty well trained. so she dosn't get into to much trouble." Savi licked her hand once in responce to the compliment. "I have an egg to...i haven't had time ot check on it much but it should be hatching soon. I can't wait though." Savi looked up at her, a slightly jealous glint in her multi facted eyes. Brook smiled. Well maye the little gren wasnt as excited as she was.
She only noticed H'var watching her now and raised an eyebrow slightly, smiling slightly. It didn't mea anythign really tough, it was just her usual reaction to a man's gaze...although they didn't ususally know that.

H'var thought about firelizards, he wasn't sure he could handle another one and etrayth, plus all the Weyrlings... no no. that would only end in chaos. "Good luck with that. I find having one is hard enough. Then when you impress a dragon it gets worse." He grinned. Etrayth was not happy with him either.
I know what your thinking... You can't prove a thing. Besides she is a nice young girl. You should be convincing her that having a dragon is great. Well I still think your a handful...or maybe handful is too small... Well, I never...hmmph.the dragon grew silent again.
Having thoroughly enjoyed teasing his dragon he was brought back to reality, noting that she was now looking at him with a raised eyebrow. "I'm afraid I'm not much help when it comes to flit eggs. Kestrel is from a wild clutch and he was hatching when I found him. Are you hoping for a particular color this time. Not that it will matter much. They are all very similair in their wants..."

She smiled, well it seemed he had some sense of humor. "But you love them every second." She said lightly, a rare, pure softness coming into her eyes. She knew nothing of love...but the thought still excited her, to love soemone so deeply liek that.
Savi began to preen herself as she noticed Kestral. She tilted her delicate gren head i thebrown flits direction, blinking at him sweetly. Brook tried not to laugh. People often said like dragon like rider...she thought the same thing applied to flits. She shook her head. "No they're all lovely. Although if its a Gold or Green...Savi will get incredibly jealous." She said, smiling.
Suddenly Savi nipped at Brook's finger as the Gold candidate began to lift the mug of klah to her lips. The artiat looekd sternly at the flit, "Savi no! You've been quite a brat though, haven't you recetly?" She said, shaking her head at the little green. The flits mood could turn on a dime.
((Hey HG, care to make it interesting with a flit flight?))

((sounds perfectly fine to me.fun fun fun! )) "I could live without them... well except for Etrayth. I wouldn't wish losing ones dragon on anyone. It has to be the worst sort of suffering." He wasn't smiling, nor was he sad. When he spoke on serious matters he looked almost as though he were far away. Mainly because he was thinking about it more than he was speaking about it. "I'm sure a lovely flit ssuch as Savi has no need to be jealous." He knew flattery worked on flits more so even than dragons. His brown stopped drinking his klah, peering at the pretty green with silent adoration. She was catching the light wonderfully. She made eyes at him so he flapped his wings, showing off his wingspan and curving his neck. "Kestrel is moody too at times." For a brown that was uncommon but for a flit it was certainly not unheard of. The flit rarely flirted like this so he let him have his fun. Besides it was only fair as he himself was talking with a lovely young woman.
