I'slen smiled winningly, he hadn't quite forgotten all his charm. At least, not when it mattered, he was a bronzerider after all. "My dear I would never suggest such a thing, you are without peer. I just simply hope that this humble bronzerider is slightly more worth of attempting such a goal than the rest of the rabble." He's grey eyes sparkled and he winked at her, as if to let her know that such gestures were only half in play.
Weseaneth crooned once more and preened the back of Amenth's neck, laying it on almost as heavy as his rider was. Bah, you started it. Did not. Did too. Well at least I'll finish it.
I'slen blinked at the outright meaning behind the bronze's words. Maybe Amenth was closer than he had orignaly guessed. She was young, but this age was hardly unheard of, especially as they were going into threadfall. The WeyrlingMaster quieted for a moment then nodded to Tujal. "Yes, you had better talk to the Weyrwoman. Simply for the safety matters at least."

Tujal rolled her eyes at his initial statements. "Oh, shut up. Flattery will get you nowhere." But she still snickered and smirked at his wink, so his advances were not fully in vain. "Besides, you know you've practically already won."
Did not, Tujal heard Weseaneth say. Well, at least I'll finish it.
"Finish what? Are you two arguing again?" She laughed. "You're like an old mated couple. You're worse than even you and I are, I'slen," she said. Now that she knew what was wrong, she could get back into full swing of trying to annoy him. She didn't know why, but it was so much fun to get him flustered. She winked at him. "And besides, how do you know that another bronzerider hasn't been courting my affections?"

I'slen laughed heartily at her comment about himself and his bronze. They'd been together for over fifteen turns now, they might as well have been an old mated couple. Not that he wanted to mate with Weseaneth, that was quite impossible. But it was hard to share every moment of fifteen turns with someone without getting to know them rather well, the fact that they were both in each other's heads didn't help matters. But then... he sort of did mate with Weseaneth when flights happened, though he supposed it was more of them mutualy mating with others than mating with each other. He really wouldn't want to mate with Wes, he loved him sure, but that seemed a little..... extensive.
Snapping back at her comment, I'slen remembered that Tujal could hear Wes. Why was it she always managed to hear the choicest comments and never the normal dull conversation. "He means to finish what we've started Tujal, it was a none so clever quip." The Weyrling Master had learned long ago it was easiest to be outright blunt and honest with Tujal becuase if she didn't believe him, she would just ask Wes, and that.... always ended up being embarassing for I'slen.
"Courting your affections are they?" He bit back the quick flash of temper at that comment, it wasn't like he could really do anything anyway. Not untill she had graduated at least, or after Amenth rose. I'slen finished off the last of the klah and set the mug down with a smart clip. "I need not lecture you on such things as your Master or as..." He let the line trail off and his grey eyes snapped with intensity. "Allow them to court you if they will, but in the end they will fail. Though Faranth be a green if I got between you and other suitors. You should know the best selection for when Amenth does rise." His need as her Master and his need to be with her exculsivly vied in his gut and he ground his teeth together. No matter, they would still all fail short when it came down to it.

"Well, not that I know of, but now that Amenth's getting proddy, I'm sure they'll start." She laughed at his personal dichotomy. "But don't worry, Master, I'll make the best choice for me and my dragon." She winked at him. "Wouldn't want to deflate that rather large ego of yours. And Amenth seems rather set on Weseaneth. She's been spending abnormal amounts of time with him lately, even for her. I'm actually not sure if that's healthy or not. As a Weyrlingmaster," and she resisted the urge to add not as my lover, "what do you think?"
She'd noticed the anger that rose in him at her sharp jibe. Interesting. He generally wasn't the type to rise to anger so fast. That meant he must really, really care for her.
Well, you knew that, stupid. He's the only man who will abide your rudeness and general snobbery.
Shaddup, you. I knew he cared, but never how much. It's a bit...touching. She shared a mental laugh with the dragon. Life was good. And things were proceeding as planned. She could only hope things would stay as positive as they had.

He half deflated at her comment but let out the breath at her next. Dratted girl, she could play with him like a harper with a lute. Ah well, he did love that in her. No other woman had ever had that effect on him. In fact all most others had ever done was comment on his manly physique and swoon into his arms. Not that such things didn't have their benefits but after awhile it did grow old. He tilted his head to the side and nodded slowly.
"As a WeyrlingMaster I wouldn't dissuade her, it'll be easier on you both if the -both- of you have a clear prefrence. Though it is best that you talk to other female riders, Ruet or Lyrai would be best. You need to know exactly what you'll be facing and how to control Amenth when the time comes." And no matter what I'slen would say on that matter he knew it would be much better comming from another goldrider. Not to mention they would obviously have some insights that he would not.

Tujal laughed, almost derisively. "I think we've both shown a fairly clear preference. See me in the company of others much, I'slen? I think not." She shifted. This conversation was getting uncomfortable. "I doubt very much I'll talk to Ruet. She hates me. If, and I mean if, I talk to anyone, it'll be Lyrai. She's sensible." Actually, Tujal liked Lyrai very much. "Actually, this would all be one-hundred percent better if Amenth didn't fly at all. But that won't happen, so I better just move on in a forward-thinking fashion." She nodded. "Anyway." She sighed. "I'm really worried about this, I'slen. You better help me calm down."
